Chemical Engineering Professor to Lead New Center for Alternative Meat and Protein

The University of California, Davis, is leading the establishment of a new Integrative Center for Alternative Meat and Protein, or iCAMP. The center will work toward large-scale commercialization and technological advancement of alternative proteins, including cultivated meat (from animal cells grown in large fermentors), plant- and fungal-based foods, and innovative hybrids that combine conventional meat products with alternative proteins.

Job Opportunity: Joe and Essie Smith Endowed Chair

The Department of Chemical Engineering is recruiting for an internal full-time faculty member to serve as the holder of the Joe and Essie Smith Endowed Chair in fundamental chemical engineering sciences.

Candidates must be an be an existing professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering who is early in their career but has already established their potential as a scholar. It is expected that the candidate will advance at least normally through the faculty ranks on the basis of their scholarly activities, teaching, University and public service.
